LSU’s football program appears to miss Joe Burrow in a major way.
The Tigers are currently trailing UCLA, 31-20, on Saturday evening. Coach O’s program is coming off a rough 2020 season. It doesn’t appear that major strides have been made in 2021, either.
LSU, No. 16 in the preseason top 25 poll, looks anything but a contender against UCLA on Saturday evening. Coach O’s program went 5-5 last season and it could be another up-and-down season in 2021.
Burrow led the Tigers to a historic national championship season in 2019. But the LSU program hasn’t come close to that level of play since.
Joe Burrow was pretty special, huh? LSU average since.

Joe Burrow is the greatest thing to ever happen to LSU. They’ll never win again. Turn it up

LSU is just destined for horrible QB play. Joe Burrow was such an anomaly for them.

It wasn’t just Burrow, though. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady left LSU for the Carolina Panthers after the 2019 season. He’s been a pretty big loss for the Tigers’ program, as well.
The actual Joe Brady strolled through the press box in Charlotte earlier tonight. His offense from 2019 has not appeared to re-emerge in Los Angeles. At least not yet. https://t.co/zSS7Vgt40u

It’s still early, of course, and Coach O has continued to recruit at a pretty elite level in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
But things aren’t looking great for LSU at the moment.
