Country’s No. 1 Offensive Tackle Lists His Top 12 Schools

September 9, 2021 by The Spun Leave a Comment

Fans cheer as the Iowa Hawkeyes face the Iowa State Cyclones on September 10, 2016 at Kinnick Stadium.

Kadyn Proctor is one of the most heavily sought-after recruits in the 2023 class. The Des Moines, Iowa native has taken another step forward in his recruitment.

247Sports ranks Proctor as the No. 5 player in the nation, per the site’s composite ranking system. He’s the No. 1 offensive tackle and the top recruit in Iowa.

On Wednesday, Proctor released a list of his top 12 schools as of now. Both in-state powers, Iowa and Iowa State, cracked the list for the five-star tackle. They’ll have plenty of competition.

Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M round out the list. It is a who’s who of elite college football programs.

“These are the schools that I talk to the most and I have been on visits to,” Kadyn Proctor told On3.com. He will be in Ames this weekend to see two of his schools, Iowa and Iowa State, go head to head in a huge Top 10 battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy.

Last weekend, he had an “incredible” visit to Kinnick Stadium, where the Iowa Hawkeyes blew out Indiana.

“The coaches are pretty dope,” he told 247 of his visit to Iowa, and his growing relationship with Kirk Ferentz‘s staff. “The bonds I have with them and just seeing them, their coaching ways and winning games and stuff.”

From there, he plans to figure out some crucial out-of-state visits. As the top 12 list indicates, landing those visits will be very competitive.
