College GameDay Announces Destination For Week 3 Of 2024 Season

September 9, 2024 by The Spun

Predicting Every College GameDay Location For The 2024 Season (1:01)

One of the biggest in-conference games of the month of September will host the biggest college football pregame show next Saturday.

There are a number of big non-conference games next week including Alabama-Wisconsin in Tuscaloosa, Missouri-Boston College, Ole Miss-Wake Forest and Oregon-Oregon State. But ESPN College GameDay is going to be heading to a big SEC showdown between two teams making noise early this season.

On Saturday, ESPN College GameDay announced that next week it will be heading to Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina as the South Carolina Gamecocks host the No. 18 LSU Tigers. ESPN noted that it will be their first trip to Columbia in 10 years.

“COLUMBIA, SC📍 For the first time in 10 years, we’re headed to South Carolina for @LSUfootball – @GamecockFB,” College GameDay announced.

LSU lost its season-opener to USC but is expected to get back on track against Nicholls later tonight. They’re currently ranked No. 18 in the nation and will probably be around that rank when they head to Columbia.

South Carolina are currently unranked but that is likely to change after they absolutely beat down the SEC rival Kentucky Wildcats earlier today. They are 2-0 on the season and technically atop the entire conference with a 1-0 record against SEC teams.

The Tigers are currently riding a seven-game winning streak against the Gamecocks and have not suffered a loss against them since 1994.

The last time LSU lost a game at Williams-Brice Stadium?

1930.

Will South Carolina get the win next week, or will the Tigers eat?
