We have breaking news in the college football world. A former Ohio State defensive back is leaving Columbus for Baton Rouge to play for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers.
Sevyn Banks, a former four-star recruit from the 2018 cycle, will be playing for Louisiana State University this upcoming season. He told On3 Recruits today that he’s becoming a Tiger.
Banks spent four years in Columbus playing for the Buckeyes. He wracked up 43 total tackles and two picks during that span.
LSU is getting an experienced cornerback who should see plenty of playing time this upcoming season.

Brian Kelly is making excellent use of the transfer portal. He’s rebuilt a depleted secondary through transfers, Banks being the latest.
His LSU career is off to a strong start.
“Brian Kelly and the Tigers continuing to lean heavy on the transfer portal as they rebuild a depleted secondary,” Cooper Petagna tweeted. “With the commitment of former Buckeye Sevyn Banks, that makes five defensive back transfers this off-season for the Tigers. Big area of need to say the least.”

Banks waited a long time before making his transfer decision. The former four-star recruit entered the transfer portal on Feb. 3. He had considered entering the 2022 NFL Draft before.
