The Jay Johnson era begins February 18
LSU announced its 2022 baseball schedule Wednesday afternoon and the Jay Johnson era is set to officially begin February 18 at home against Maine.
LSU will also play a pair of exhibition games both at home. The first will be on Sunday November 7 against UNO, the second will be the following Sunday against UL-Lafayette.
The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a trip to Houston for the Shriners Hospital for Children Classic the weekend of March 4-6. LSU will play Oklahoma on that Friday at 3:00 P.M., Texas the following day at 7:00 P.M., and Baylor on Sunday also at 7:00.
SEC play will once again be 30 games and LSU’s opening series will be at home against Texas A&M the weekend of March 18. LSU’s other home SEC series are against Auburn, Missouri, Georgia, and Ole Miss.
LSU’s road conference series are an absolute beast. The Tigers will have to go to Florida, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Alabama and Vanderbilt to close out the regular season. Welcome to the SEC indeed, Jay Johnson.
