ATVS Roundtable: #18

Who is your pick to wear the 18 jersey this season?

Part two of our two-part roundtable! If you missed yesterday’s, the gang discussed what constituted a successful 2025 season for LSU. Today’s question is short and simple:

Who wears 18 this season?

Max

God I don’t care, especially now that they give out multiple.

Dee

I can see Whit Weeks getting 18. He seems to embody the leadership it represents.

Note In a follow up response in the email thread, Dee also said

“Nuss is not allowed to change his number… he knows me as The Girl with His Number Tattooed on Her Elbow”

Matt

18 probably goes to Whit Weeks or Aaron Anderson.

Evan

This is one of the toughest years to figure out who it will be. A lot of that has to do with the fact this roster is so transfer-heavy and a lot of the senior leaders stepped on campus for the first time less than a year ago. I’m gonna go with the most senior guy on the team: Jacobian Guillory. Since he missed basically all of last year with an injury, he likely had to learn how to lead and set a good example off the field. That’s what leaders and No. 18s do.

Posuer

it should be Nuss, and there shouldn’t be a very long conversation about it. If they want to do the offense/defense thing, I can see Whit Weeks (or maybe Toviano) as well, but Nuss sticking around for four years when he first could have transferred out but waited his turn and then stayed an extra year to complete his legacy makes him one of the biggest no-brainers in the jersey’s history. He is what #18 represents.

Adam

Nussmeier. No doubt, question, or second thoughts necessary. We’re in an era where no quarterback spends five years at a school anymore and that kind of rare loyalty needs to be rewarded. This is (read: needs to be) his team. He is the face, avatar, and bellwether of this team. As he goes, so do we. You can name a defensive captain and I’d be cool with that, but Nuss deserves to have his faith rewarded.

Brad

West Weeks. I think Nuss will get the 7 patch and they will hand the 18 to a Weeks to keep his brother happy. That family has changed the culture of the defense.

Zach

Count me among that number who wants to see Nussmeier wear it, and while I don’t like how LSU has handed out multiple 18s in recent years if you do want to do the offense/defense thing Jacobian Guillory, to me, is the obvious pick.
