Bradford’s out but Cam Wire is expected to return for Alabama
Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Anthony Bradford will miss the remainder of the 2021 football season.
Ed Orgeron said Bradford would be “unavailable” but did not elaborate further in his weekly Monday press conference. Bradford was injured early in LSU’s win over Florida two weeks ago and did not travel with the team to Oxford this past weekend.
While LSU loses Bradford, they are expecting to get back left tackle Cam Wire for next weekend’s game at Alabama. Junior right guard Chasen Hines is also expected to be back for Alabama, however he will not be practicing for the next few days.
“Chasen Hines is not able to practice the next couple of days, but I think he’s going to be ready for Alabama,” Orgeron said. “It looks like Cam is going to be ready. We talked about it this morning. We’ll see how he does this week. But I do believe he’s going to be ready.”
In other injury news, Orgeron said neither Major Burns nor Cordale Flott are practicing, but Flott should be okay to play against Alabama on November 6. Orgeron also said that senior quarterback Myles Brennan is throwing a football but isn’t ready to practice let alone take the field. There was hope prior to the season starting that Brennan would be able to return from his broken arm for the Alabama game but Orgeron isn’t counting on that.
“He was throwing the other day,” Orgeron said. “I don’t expect him back next week. I don’t think he’s ready to practice right now, and I don’t expect him back next week.”
