Angel Reese is taking her talents from Baton Rouge to the Windy City.
Earlier this week, the Chicago Sky selected Reese with the No. 7 pick in this year’s WNBA Draft.
On Friday afternoon, the official X account for the LSU women’s basketball team shared a message from Reese. The SEC Player of the Year thanked the fans for all their support over the past two seasons.
“Thank you for these amazing two years here,” Reese said. “The amazing experiences, the amazing memories, the fan base is amazing, amazing culture, amazing food. Memories that I’ll never forget, especially the national championship. This is not a goodbye. This is a see you later.
“I hope you guys are still fans of me in the WNBA. I’m now a part of the Chicago Sky. I know you guys are going to support me. I’m No. 5 now. I know you guys are going to buy all the jerseys and all the gear. I just want to let you guys know that I love y’all and I’ll see you guys soon. Go Tigers!”
Not goodbye, but see you later 🫶

Reese was a dominant force at LSU, averaging 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game. The Tigers wouldn’t have won a national title in 2023 without her.
Only time will tell if Reese can have a similar impact in the WNBA.
Reese will make her WNBA debut on May 15 when the Sky face the Wings.
