LSU’s mass exodus continues. On Friday, it was announced that Mwani Wilkinson, the only scholarship player remaining on the roster, will enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Wilkinson averaged 4.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game for the Tigers this past season. The four-star recruit should draw a lot of interest now that he’s in the transfer portal.
The Tigers will have to completely reload their roster for the 2022-23 season. Over the past few weeks, 11 players have left the program.
LSU recently lost guards Brandon Murray, Xavier Pinson and Adam Miller, forward Shareef O’Neal, and center Jerrell Colbert to the transfer portal. Additionally, Darius Days and Tari Eason are moving on to the NBA.
With so much turnover taking place, it’s pretty evident that Matt McMahon will have to start from scratch.
It’s officially happened.
With Mwani Wilkinson entering the transfer portal, #LSU basketball has zero remaining players from this year’s LSU team. Eleven guys to the portal.
Sanctions are coming, and Matt McMahon will be building completely from scratch.

All these departures were expected once LSU received the NCAA’s Notice of Allegations.
On the bright side, LSU did land a marquee transfer in former Murray State guard Trae Hannibal. He averaged 9.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season.
McMahon will have a tough challenge ahead of him in Baton Rouge, that’s for sure. But at least he’ll have the opportunity to bring some familiar faces from Murray State over to LSU
